Fordham Health Sciences Library Closes
Submitted by Bette Sydelko,
University Libraries, Wright State University, Dayton, OH
In April of this year, Stephen Foster, University Librarian at Wright State University, Dayton, OH, announced the decision to consolidate the Fordham Health Sciences Library with the Paul Laurence Dunbar Library, the main academic library on campus. This action was based on the current budget climate as well as a need for classroom space at WSU. The Fordham Library officially closed in June after 35 years of serving the Dayton health sciences community. With the library closed, staffs at both libraries are working diligently to ensure a quick and efficient transfer of materials. Can you imagine relabeling every book in your library with a new call number? We hope to complete the consolidation efforts by next June and will continue to provide excellent service to all faculty, staff and students throughout the university and the greater Dayton health sciences community.
