On the Road Again

It's conference time!

In less than three weeks, your intrepid blog editor will be driving the trusty Altima up to Troy, Michigan so that I can attend the 2008 Midwest Chapter/MHSLA Conference. Today I had my Michigan map out since I was up there this weekend attending a family wedding. [Congratulations Molly and Jason!] So I figured out the route that I'll be taking up to Troy from here in beautiful Ohio.

The Detroit Marriott Troy has travel information on their website. I used the handy link from there to get driving directions. Note to self: Do not forget to pick up our esteemed chapter treasurer in Toledo on the way up there!

If you will be flying into Detroit Metro Airport to attend the conference, you may wish to consider ride sharing from the airport. The conference planners will help you find someone to share a taxi with. Get the details here.

I'm excited about this year's conference. The program looks great! Did you see that the program planners have added a new plenary speaker? M.J. Tooey, Executive Director of the Health Science and Human Services Library at the University of Maryland and former MLA President, will be speaking on Monday, October 20.

Keep watching ConnectMidwest for more pre-conference information!
