Octoberfest in Milwaukee: Simply Wunderbar! |

For those of you who are not familiar with the German language, "Simply wunderbar" means "Simply wonderful!" On behalf of the Midwest Chapter of the Medical Library Association, the Wisconsin Health Science Library Association (WHSLA) and the Southeastern Wisconsin Health Science Libraries (SWHSL) consortium, the conference planning committee invites you to join us in Milwaukee for a wonderful conference! Our committee has planned a variety of speakers, contributed paper sessions, and CE courses to challenge and inform you. The conference will take place at the Wyndham Milwaukee Center hotel. This 4-star hotel was recently renovated and is located in the heart of downtown. The Wyndham is close to many Milwaukee attractions such as the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, the thriving Water Street area with numerous pubs and restaurants, Grand Avenue shopping mall, the Riverwalk, the Bradley Center Sports & Entertainment Arena, the Milwaukee Public Museum and Humphrey IMAX Dome Theater, the Milwaukee Art Museum, and the lakefront. Special Events The Welcome Reception will take place on Saturday night at Sprecher Brewing in their indoor beer garden. Sprecher is a microbrewery which is famous for its beers and gourmet sodas brewed by traditional old world German methods. Sample a little of everything while you're here. The event will be catered by Saz's, a favorite Milwaukee restaurant for over 20 years. On Sunday night we'll welcome the vendors to our conference. A dinner reception will coincide with the opening of the exhibit area. Other additional special events are also being planned. A Friday tour of the Harley Davidson Motor Company factory is in the works. On Saturday, if you are not in a CE course, come on a library tour. We hope you will join us in Milwaukee! Karen L. Hanus
